3D PS3 Confirmed? | A Good Clue!
So last weekend I was in Harrods strolling round the Audio Video and Technology departments.
There were some amazing setups with 100″ screens and £100,000 speakers etc.
The LG Section featured its new 3D TV using Polarisation glasses, as do cinemas.
Next was the Sony Centre which had some nice tv’s and amps and the general stuff you would expect to find in any hi-fi shop. Then I saw in the corner was a 3D demo Area. The Setup had a 47″ TV with Blu-Ray Player, Sky HD box and a Slim Line PS3.
The sales guy quickly came over and handed us a pair of Shutter Sync Glasses. He then continued to show us some 3D demo adds and movie clips.
Where was the 3D content coming from?
A Demo Disk in the PS3! Trying to keep it discrete he was using the PS3, quickly changing menus and hiding the remote. But it was obvious it was the PS3 doing the work!
The guy then went on to show me some Games in 3D. Little Big Planet and Wipeout HD. Which looked amazing and the effect was brilliant. Much better than you get in the Cinema.
This means Sony have the code to activate 3D content on the PS3 and have no reason to keep it from the public? Why would they bother developing the code and software to do it then not distribute it?
My bet is that it will be in the next couple of updates.
